Swim
Committee (WTC = wedstrijd-
en trainingscommissie)
The
Technical Committee is responsible for co-ordinating registration
of GSA-swimmers for tournaments, discussing training programmes
with trainers, looking for new swim trainers, and organising
travel and stay for (international) tournaments. With
the prospect of growth in GSA membership numbers, the search
for one or more new trainers is one of our main priorities.
If you are interested in helping us, please contact me or one
of the other WTC-members. In particular, we are looking for
someone to support us in registration for tournaments. A computer
and e-mailadress will suffice, to be able to do the job. Wishing
you all a great swimming season!
Taking
part in competitions
Members still ask us if they can take part in competitions,
with the question at the back of their minds- am I fast enough?
Let's make it clear once and for all- the masters and gay competitions
that we offer are open to everyone and taking part is more important
than winning! Ask someone from the WTC or one of the trainers
more information.
Relays
We are regularly asked about how the relay teams are made up.
Putting a team together is a big job, with lots of different
wishes to satisfy. For clarity, the following are our guidelines:
- Every
swimmer who wants to be in a relay has to make it clear on
their registration form that they want to take part in a relay.
- We try
to enter as many teams as possible.
- There
is at least one team which we register as our fastest team,
if possible we register more.
Trainers
Finding new trainers remains difficult, not only for GSA, but
also for other Dutch swimming clubs. That's why the development
of trainers within our own club is as important as finding trainers
outside GSA. Two of our members are following the official trainers
course offered by the KNZB. Are you interested in the course?
Please contact the
WTC.
